Alberti e Santi invests in 100 new swap bodies: innovation and sustainability at the service of logistics

Alberti e Santi, which has been operating for more than 65 years in the transport and logistics, announces an important investment for its fleet: the purchase of 100 new swap-bodies, proving once again its constant growth and willingness to offer increasingly safer, efficient and sustainable solutions to our customers.

25 of these new swap bodies will be equipped with the revolutionary Airlite technology, an innovative treatment that transforms the curtain’s surface into a natural air purifier.

This technology works thanks to a natural process: when sunlight or any other light source hit the treated surface, it activates electric charges that trigger a reaction capable of breaking down the pollutants present in the air, in particular:

  • NOx (nitrogen oxide), responsible for urban pollution and respiratory problems;
  • Exhaust gases such as carbon monoxide (CO) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Harmful agents are thus transformed into harmless substances (for example nitrates), which are deposited and then removed by the rain or washing of the vehicles.

The benefits are tangible: the effective absorption and compensation of 100m² of surface treated with Airlite is equivalent to 100m² of a forest. In addition, only one treated swap-body is capable of absorbing and eliminating an amount of pollutants equal to that produced by about 15 cars in urban traffic every day.

A growing commitment: from the expansion of our fleet to our intermodal service

The new swap-bodies will become operational mainly on the most strategic routes for Alberti e Santi: United Kingdom, Ireland, Benelux and Poland, further strengthening the company’s responsiveness in key markets for European exports and imports.

Simultaneously, Alberti e Santi continues to invest decisively in its Intermodal Transport service, a transport mode that significantly reduces its environmental impact thanks to the combined use of several means of transportation (road, rail, ship).

In just five years, the company’s intermodal fleet has grown from around 100 swap-bodies in early 2020 to more than 600 intermodal units in 2025, marking a growth that attests to our concrete commitment to more sustainable and efficient logistics.

With this investment, A&S confirms its role as an innovative player in the sector, able not only to guarantee an excellent logistics performance, but also to actively contribute to environmental preservation.
